Los angeles, ca - Metro service?

We'll be down sometime in August and I'm trying to figure out if there are busses that can take us from los angeles (hollywood) to places like huntington beach or newport beach.... are there any bus services that do this or would we have to take a taxi? also... if you know, approx how much wouldit be for a tax ride to one of these beaches? thanks.
