Religious views on organ donating?
I think CS Lewis put it best when he said "You do not have a soul. You ARE a soul. You have a body." Your body is just a shell that you inhabit in order to exist in this world. When you die, it isn't going to matter what happens to your body. You're done with it. It doesn't matter if it's buried peacefully in a casket or cremated or donated - you aren't going to be affected. Donating organs after death is a way to save someone's life, the life of someone who still inhabits his/her shell and needs it for the time being. It is a selfless choice - the kind of choice that Jesus would make. The only religions that would even think of suggesting negative consequences for this kind of choice are grounded solely in myths and superstitions, and are not worth following.
